Diana Gameros: a Well-Being concert

  • Noe Valley Ministry 1021 Sanchez Street San Francisco, CA, 94114 United States (map)

Diana Gameros is one of the Bay Area's most beloved and distinctive musical voices — a singer, guitarist, pianist, composer, and storyteller who creates music, in the words of those who know her work best, "at the borderlands between cultures, languages, and genres." Born and raised in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, she immigrated to the United States as a teenager to study music and has spent the last decade building a body of work rooted in the Spanish language, Mexican tradition, and the immigrant experience. She has released two albums of original songs, received NPR Music honorable mention for best Latin album, been named one of YBCA's 100 creative pioneers shaping American culture, and is a lead artist for our Lullaby Project, which pairs artists with new parents to create lullabies for their children. She is also a core member of the Immigrant Orchestra. For the Well-Being Concert series, Diana brings her full self to the stage: voice, guitar, piano, and an extraordinary capacity to make an audience feel both seen and held. With Meena Bhasin as host, this is an evening of music as homecoming.
