Reverberations began with a Carnegie Hall commission marking the 80th anniversary of Copland's Appalachian Spring — and it has grown into something far larger: a genre-bending, semi-staged musical experience that traces the hidden intimacies between some of history's great artistic partnerships. Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein. Clara Schumann and Brahms. Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears. The program weaves together excerpts from their music — Brahms's B-flat String Sextet, Britten's String Quartet no. 2, Copland's Appalachian Spring — with new works by Ringdown (Caroline Shaw and Danni Lee Parpan) drawn from the composers' letters and correspondence: “part love story, part history project,” in the artists' own words. Noe Music is proud to present this sanctioned preview performance ahead of the official world première at Carnegie Hall in May 2027 — and even prouder that the ensemble performing it is Decoda, whose co-founders are our very own Owen Dalby and Meena Bhasin. This is as close to the center of the action as it gets.
Please note the atypical day, time and venue: Saturday, April 10, 7:30pm at Hosfelt Gallery
