NPR Music recently wrote “If Haydn were alive to write a string quartet today, it may sound something like Paul Wiancko’s LIFT.” When it comes to Paul, that’s only scratching the surface. On February 4 at 7pm Paul will take us through his journey as a cellist, composer, and producer, and will be joined by his colleague and partner, violist Ayane Kozasa of the Aizuri Quartet.

We are joined by the eminent violinist Pamela Frank to discuss and listen to the artistry of her father, Claude Frank. We’ll explore his recorded legacy, including the late Beethoven piano sonatas, and come away with a deeply personal portrait of this wonderful man.

Kronos Quartet’s former longtime cellist Joan Jeanrenaud and founding violist Hank Dutt join forces in a conversation about their time playing together in what has been aptly called the most famous new music ensemble in the world. Together, we’ll listen to incredible performances and get to know two legendary artists.

Flutist, composer, producer, activist, and one half of the celebrated flute duo Flutronix, Allison Loggins-Hull has helped redefine and modernize the flute. She has pioneered award-winning creative collaborations between artists and genres, with creative work that speaks directly to our times. Allison joins the Noe Music Listening Club for innovative music and evocative conversation.
